We've seen such incredible dedication throughout the year, & nothing about that has changed as two of our Lovato Jiu Jitsu Adult blue belts took the challenge to compete at the IBJJF American National Championship in Las Vegas, NV. Starting with one of our instructors, Coach Dylan Nguyen submitting his way to the finals where he had such a strong performance with a small technical error that led to him securing the Silver medal in the Adult Blue Belt Rooster weight division. Next was Rome Harris, who has been focused a lot on his competition saw a phenomenal run as he also made his way to the finals of his division submitting every single person coming out as the 2017 IBJJF American National Adult Blue Heavy weight Champion! In addition to Rome's incredible achievement, he also went through his opponents NEVER having a single point or advantage scored on him the entire tournament! A huge congratulations to our two Team Lovato warriors, we at Lovato's School of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts are so very proud of all their hard work & sacrifice to not only test themselves in competition but to also represent our flag of Lovato Jiu Jitsu / Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu. We know this is only just the beginning & look forward to the growth of these two champions!

On the recommendation of a friend, I started training at Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu about 18 months ago. I had no experience in wrestling or grappling and was almost 48 years old. I knew nothing about the instructors, or even had a clear idea of what BJJ was. Now, I truly feel l... read more
