Lovato OK BJJ Students Compete at IBJJF No Gi World Championships 2016

Rafael Lovato Jr. - Monday, November 07, 2016

A lot of competitors start to taper down their training towards the end of the year as the list of competitions starts to slow down, but we had a small group of Team Lovato Warriors who took on the challenge to compete at the IBJJF No Gi World Championships held in San Francisco, CA! It was an incredible two days of the best competitors looking to make history. On the first day we had Lovato Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt Rome Harris, compete at his first No Gi Worlds & was able to secure the Bronze medal in the Adult Blue Belt Heavy weight division! Rome has been working very diligently on his No Gi jiu jitsu, & has made huge improvements in such a short amount of time. On day two, Professor Jared Dopp stepped up from being out of the competition scene for a period of time (focusing on recovering from injuries & moving) to represent Lovato & Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu in the Adult Black Belt divisions. Professor Dopp had a very dominating performance in both his weight division as well as the absolute taking out huge names of the sport such as Gilbert Durinho Burns in the Absolute & having remarkable wars with Murilo Santana & Luiz Panza. Professor Dopp earned a Silver Medal in the Adult Black Belt Super Heavy division & a Bronze Medal in the Adult Black Belt Absolute division! We at Lovato's School of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts are so very proud of all the heart that was displayed from our warriors this past weekend & look forward to their success in the new year!

Congratulations to both Professor Jared Dopp & Rome Harris on their performances as well as all our Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu brothers & sisters who put it all on the line this year at the IBJJF No Gi World Championships!
