OKC BJJ Black Belt Victorious At Bellator 181

Rafael Lovato Jr. - Monday, July 17, 2017

Fight Night in Thackerville, Oklahoma for Bellator 181 at the Winstar World Casino & Resort where Professor Rafael Lovato Jr returned to the cage against a seasoned opponent in 5 year veteran Mike Rhodes. Professor Lovato Jr took to training with legends Andre Dida, Mauricio Veio, & Wanderlei Silva in both Canada & Brazil as usual preparation for his MMA camps. In what was expected to be the next level up challenge since his 13 second Bellator debut TKO, Professor Rafael Lovato Jr started off the fight in excellent fashion keeping his opponent within his comfort zone exchanging from the feet. This led to a single leg attempt which turned into a phenomenal half guard sweep that put Professor Lovato Jr in prime position to take Rhodes down & secure the back position, eventually leading to a very deep RNC choke that ended the fight in 1 minute 30 seconds of the First Round!

A huge congratulations to our leader Professor Rafael Lovato Jr on his second Bellator promotion victory as well as increasing his Pro MMA record to 6-0 where he has finished every single opponent. We at Lovato's School of BJJ & MMA are so very proud of his sacrifice & the heart he displays to lead by example. Always testing himself & being such an strong source of inspiration for our academy. We would also like to thank all of our students, families, & loved ones who were supporting whether at the WinStar World Casino or watching the LIVE stream on With much enthusiasm, we look forward to the challenges coming up in the near future for Professor Lovato Jr!
